Port Richey, Florida, is a suburban city in Pasco County, situated along the Gulf of Mexico approximately 40 miles northwest of Tampa. Established in 1883 by Captain Aaron M. Richey, who settled near the mouth of the Pithlachascotee River, the city was incorporated in 1925. As of the 2020 census, Port Richey had a population of 3,052. The city offers residents and visitors waterfront views and access to various outdoor activities, including boating and fishing. Port Richey is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area.
